Daily Drawdown Limit

1 min. readlast update: 05.12.2026

Your account may not lose more than a defined percentage of your Start-of-Day Equity within a single trading day.

The Daily Drawdown Limit includes:

  • Realized losses
  • Unrealized (floating) losses
  • Commissions
  • Swap charges

The limit applies continuously throughout the trading day.

If account equity reaches or exceeds the daily drawdown threshold at any point, including on open positions, the account is immediately breached.

The Daily Drawdown Limit resets daily at 00:00 UTC.

Example

Account Size: $100,000
Daily Drawdown Limit: 5%

At 00:00 UTC:

  • Account equity = $102,000

Daily loss allowance:

  • 5% of $102,000 = $5,100

During the day:

  • Equity falls to $96,850

Total intraday equity loss:

  • $5,150

This exceeds the permitted daily drawdown limit and constitutes an immediate breach, even if positions later recover.
